Trepidatious as I was to scoure a purely online zine after getting off work, I was suprisingly pleased by 2River View. Instead of trying yo be a print magazine that just happpens to be available over the internet they embrace and use the technology. On the site you can find podcasts and discussions of poems, along with links to articles about authors and the latest goings on in the literary world. There are also numerous other links to sister sites and to sites where print versions of the contributors works can be found. There is also a PDF version availble for free.
2River View deals strictly with previously unpublished poems. Unpublished of any sort, not even on a blog. You can go here to check out the complete list of the guidlines. It comes out quartley, but they also occasionally publish chapbooks of certain authors or on certain themes. These chapbooks are also available in a PDF format.
One of the poems I like is by Brent Pallas, called Mrs. Claus, simply because there is also an audio feture attached to the poem where you can hear the author read the poem and give a little background on it. The audio of the authors reading there work is available on all the poems. Another very intriguing and information audio clip is attached to Taylor Grahm's poem American Guest. It is also an experience to hear her read the second of her poems in the zine titled Reckoning.
All in all it was a very good read with some interesting traditional style poems, along with some slightly more adventuresome ones. The numerous lnks gave me something to kill more time with and hearing the authors read their own work gave the poems another demision of depth.
2River View was a very pleasant suprise.

Excellent review. I love the audio on this site. I think the main adventure of 2 River View is that they're redefining what it means to be a literary magazine.
I'm going to spend some more time with this one.
